Looking for free things to do in Cardiff, Wales? We stayed in Cardiff for 5 days and nights, and while we paid for some of the sites we visited, there are many free things to see and do. If you are in the City Centre of Cardiff, most are an easy walk to get to them.
6 Free Things to Do in Cardiff

1. **Bute Park** Immerse yourself in one of Cardiff’s most beloved green spaces. Located right next to Cardiff Castle, you can wander along its winding paths. Relax by the River Taff, or simply enjoy a leisurely picnic in this lush haven in the heart of the city of Cardiff, Wales.
2. **St. Fagans National Museum of History** (Often called St. Fagans National Museum of History rather than a “natural history museum.”) Step back in time at this open-air museum where you can explore over 40 historic buildings, gardens, and exhibits. They vividly illustrate Welsh life over the centuries—all with free entry, right here in Cardiff, Wales.

3. **Cardiff Bay** Once known as the coal capital of the world, the Cardiff Bay waterfront has gone through a dynamic change. Now filled with upscale eateries, bars, and pedestrian walkways.
